Crawfordsville - Ellen L. McBee, 58, died at 11 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital.  She had been hospitalized six weeks following a lengthy illness. Born Sept 24, 1931, in Montgomery County, she graduated from Bowers HS and was a life resident of this area. She lived at Rt 6.  Mrs. McBee had worked as a secretary at North Montgomery HS and clerk at Tipmont REMC.  Her marriage was Oct 13, 1949 in Linden to Walter H. McBee. He is a farmer. She was a member of Linden-Kirkpatrick United Methodist Church and was past president of United Methodist Women.  She also was a member of Mothers Night Out Home Economics Club and was a member and past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 244. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Terri) Keffer of Mace and Mrs. Lori Mitchell of Crawfordsville; a son, M. Dean McBee of Darlington; her mother, Hilma Mahoy of Darlington; two brothers, David Mahoy of Lebanon and John Mahoy of Crawfordsville and two sisters, Jo Ann Anderson of Lafayette and Carol Mahoy of Tampa, Fla.  - kbz

Ellen L. McBee 58 of Rt. 6, Crawfordsville died at 11 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital where she had been a patient for the last six weeks. She had been ill for 18 months.  Mrs. McBee was a graduate of Bowers HS and was a lifetime resident of Montgomery County. She was a secretary for Montgomery HS and a clerk at Tipmonth REMC.  She was a member of Linden-Kirkpatrick United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star of which she was a past matron.  She also belonged to MNO Home Extension Club of which she was a past president.  She was born Sept 24, 1931 in Montgomery County to Haven and Hilma Mahyoy. She was married to Walter N. McBee on Oct 13, 1949 at Linden. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Terri) Keffer of Mace and Mrs. Lori Mitchell of Rt 6, Crawforsdville; a son, N. Dean of Darlington; her mother of Darlington; two brothers, David Mahoy of Lebanon and John Mahoy of Crawfordsville; two sisters, JoAnn Anderson of Lafayette and Carol Mahoy of Tamps, Fla and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Richard and James. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Hahn Funeral Chapela t Linden with the Rev. Rick Rhoads officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. - kbz
